Prayer of Thanksgiving for the Blessings of the Past Year

O God, the beginning and the end of all things,
Who art always the same, and Whose years fail not,
we now, at the close of another year,
kneel in adoration before Thee, and offer Thee our deepest thanks
for the fatherly care with which Thou has watched over us during the past,
for the many times Thou hast protected us from evils of soul and body,
and for the numberless blessings, both temporal and spiritual,
which Thou hast showered upon us.
May it please Thee to accept the homage of our grateful hearts which we offer Thee
in union with the infinite thanksgiving of Thy divine Son,our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who with Thee liveth and reigneth forever and ever. Amen.

The Shocking Truth: Born Alive Aborted Babies Being Left to Die

In 1999 a gruesome discovery was made that an IL hospital was shelving babies to die in a soiled utility room who had survived their abortions.

The federal Born Alive Infants Protection Act was introduced in 2000 to provide legal protection to all born babies, wanted or not, including the right to medical care.

In 2002, Born Alive passed unanimously in the U.S. Senate and by overwhelming voice vote in the House. On August 5, President George W. Bush signed the bill into law.

Despite that, numerous accounts from various parts of the country document abortion survivors are still being medically neglected until they die or are outright killed – infanticide.

BornAliveTruth.org exists to expose the shocking truth and pursue enforcement of Born Alive.

Jill Stanek, R.N. blew the whistle on babies born alive being left to die. Read Jill's story here.

Gianna Jessen survived an abortion. Read Gianna's story here.

Turtle Eggs Have More Legal Rights Than Unborn Human Babies

"...facts that many people don't know, don't appreciate and/or don't think about, because they are unpleasant and the major media choose to direct attention elsewhere.

"Like the fact that a turtle egg has more legal rights than an unborn baby. It's illegal under the Endangered Species Act to destroy a turtle's eggs, but aborting an unborn baby is legal.

"Like the fact that the number of unborn babies aborted in the United States each year greatly exceeds the number of Americans killed in combat since the Revolutionary War. There have been about 45,000,000 abortions in the United States since the hapless United States Supreme Court said that the government was helpless to protect the unborn.

"The number of unborn babies killed in the United States since Roe v. Wade was decided is more than seven times the number of Jews slaughtered in the Holocaust. Some six million Jews were killed for being Jews in the Holocaust."

These words were written by Father Frank Pavone on Feb. 14, 2005, so the abortion toll is now closer to 50,000,000 unborn babies' lives deliberately and cruelly taken in the United States of America alone--a tragic and sad commentary on the shameful moral state of a once great nation.

Prayer to Baby Jesus

HAIL! HOLY BABE

HAIL! Holy Babe of Bethlehem,
All hail to Thee!
Right joyously our hearts exclaim,
O Jesu mi!

My God, what brought Thee from above,
A man to be?
What other than a burning love,
O Jesu mi!

A child to us is born this day,
O happy we!
And ours be now Thy praise to say,
O Jesu mi!

But love with love we must repay,
So tenderly;
With Mary, Joseph, let us pray,
O Jesu mi!

Dr. Martin Luther King: Sacredness of All Human Life

On Christmas of 1967, Martin Luther King Jr. preached the following words: “The next thing we must be concerned about if we are to have peace on earth and good will toward men is the nonviolent affirmation of the sacredness of all human life. Every man is somebody because he is a child of God…Man is more than …whirling electrons or a wisp of smoke …. Man is a child of God, made in His image, and therefore must be respected as such….And when we truly believe in the sacredness of human personality, we won’t exploit people, we won’t trample over people with the iron feet of oppression, we won’t kill anybody.”

Vatican II taught, “By his incarnation the Son of God has united himself in some fashion with every human being” (GS, 22). Hence The Gospel of Life states, “It is precisely in the “flesh” of every person that Christ continues to reveal himself and to enter into fellowship with us, so that rejection of human life, in whatever form that rejection takes, is really a rejection of Christ” (EV #104) and again, “life, especially human life, belongs only to God: for this reason whoever attacks human life, in some way attacks God himself” (EV #9).

God Chose to Become a Child for the Sake of All of His Children

"The medieval theologian William of Saint Thierry once said that God – from the time of Adam – saw that his grandeur provoked resistance in man, that we felt limited in our own being and threatened in our freedom. Therefore God chose a new way. He became a child. He made himself dependent and weak, in need of our love. Now – this God who has become a child says to us – you can no longer fear me, you can only love me.

"With these thoughts, we draw near this night to the child of Bethlehem – to the God who for our sake chose to become a child. In every child we see something of the Child of Bethlehem. Every child asks for our love. This night, then, let us think especially of those children who are denied the love of their parents. Let us think of those street children who do not have the blessing of a family home, of those children who are brutally exploited as soldiers and made instruments of violence, instead of messengers of reconciliation and peace. Let us think of those children who are victims of the industry of pornography and every other appalling form of abuse, and thus are traumatized in the depths of their soul. The Child of Bethlehem summons us once again to do everything in our power to put an end to the suffering of these children; to do everything possible to make the light of Bethlehem touch the heart of every man and woman. Only through the conversion of hearts, only through a change in the depths of our hearts can the cause of all this evil be overcome, only thus can the power of the evil one be defeated. Only if people change will the world change; and in order to change, people need the light that comes from God, the light which so unexpectedly entered into our night."

The Angelus

THE ANGELUS

The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.
And she conceived of the Holy Ghost.
Hail Mary, ...

Behold the handmaid of the Lord.
Be it done unto me according to Thy word.
Hail Mary, ...

And the Word was made Flesh.
And dwelt among us.
Hail Mary, ...

Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let Us Pray

Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts, that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ Thy Son was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection. Through the same Christ Our Lord.
Amen.

The Wisdom of Today Well Lived

Look to this day
For it is life,
The very life of life.

In its brief course lie all
the realities and truths of existence
the joy of growth
the glory of action
the splendor of beauty.

For yesterday is already a memory
and tomorrow is only a vision
but today well lived makes every
yesterday a memory of happiness
and every tomorrow a vision of hope.
Look well, therefore, to this day!

There Was a Heartbeat: Adoption Blessing

We fell in love instantly with his birth parents. They were very young, but they had made such a mature decision for their baby. The day Eli was born was the best day of my life, and I will be eternally grateful. All I kept saying to the birth parents was, "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

What Planned Parenthood Doesn't Want You to Know

Investigating medical misinformation and manipulation at Planned Parenthood, the nation's abortion industry giant:

Embryologists Dianne Irving, Ph.D, a former bench research biochemist with the National Institutes of Health and a Professor of Medical Ethics at Georgetown University, and Ward Kischer, Ph.D., Professor emeritus of Cell Biology and Anatomy specializing in embryology at the University Arizona, cite what they call "the number-one human embryology textbook," Human Embryology & Teratology published by Wiley-Liss: "The heart begins to beat by 4 weeks."

Ronald Reagan Speaks About Abortion, Religion and Life

On 1/30/84 President Ronald Reagan spoke about abortion, religion, and life to the National Religious Broadcasters:

"God's most blessed gift to His family is the gift of life. He sent us the Prince of Peace as a babe in a manger. I've said that we must be cautious in claiming God is on our side. I think the real question we must answer is, are we on His side?

I know what I'm about to say now is controversial, but I have to say it. This nation cannot continue turning a blind eye and a deaf ear to the taking of some 4,000 unborn children's lives every day. That's one every 21 seconds. One every 21 seconds.

We cannot pretend that America is preserving her first and highest ideal, the belief that each life is sacred, when we've permitted the deaths of 15 million helpless innocents since the Roe versus Wade decision -- 15 million children who will never laugh, never sing, never know the joy of human love, will never strive to heal the sick or feed the poor or make peace among nations. Abortion has denied them the first and most basic of human rights. We are all infinitely poorer for their loss.

There's another grim truth we should face up to: Medical science doctors confirm that when the lives of the unborn are snuffed out, they often feel pain, pain that is long and agonizing.

This nation fought a terrible war so that black Americans would be guaranteed their God-given rights. Abraham Lincoln recognized that we could not survive as a free land when some could decide whether others should be free or slaves. Well today another question begs to be asked: How can we survive as a free nation when some decide that others are not fit to live and should be done away with?

I believe no challenge is more important to the character of America than restoring the right to life to all human beings. Without that right, no other rights have meaning. "Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for such is the kingdom of God."
(Today the daily abortion death toll of unborn babies in the USA is still 4ooo, with a shocking and scandalous total of 50 million lives lost since abortion became legal.)

Fr. Thomas Eunteneuer: Thanksgiving and Protection for God's Gift of Life

"First and foremost, we thank God for the precious gift of our lives. No matter what the circumstances of our conception or birth are; no matter what challenges we may have had to face, life itself is a good that comes from on high and which God always sustains. We can share our lives with others, fill others with life and lay down our lives for our friends. Those who are married can even participate with God in the creation of new life for time and eternity. Not even the angels have been given the gift of procreation!

"More than anything we are called to protect life which is sacred and which is so threatened in our day and age. In this Advent season we must make sure that we have some type of explicit pro-life, pro-marriage or pro-family commitment to others in order to show God how much we appreciate these tremendous gifts of His love."

Our Lady of Guadalupe, Protectress of the Unborn

"Of all the many manifestations of Mary's loving presence among us throughout the centuries, in this apparition alone does she appear to us in the manner of a pregnant mother. She holds within her the unborn Christ, proclaiming the sanctity and blessedness of life within the womb. Her reverence and tenderness communicate to us the joy and awe with which we must approach each nascent life."

"When Mary first appeared to Blessed Juan Diego in 1531, Mexico had been in the hands of Christian leaders for only a short time. Human sacrifice, where blood of infants was often spilled to appease the thirsty demons of the old rite, was still practiced surreptitiously, a gruesome continuation of the country's long enslavement to pagan fears. Into this cavern of darkness and ignorance, our Lady of Guadalupe brought a message of maternal compassion. "I am the merciful Mother, the Mother of all of you who live united in this land, and of all mankind, of all those who love me, of those who cry to me, of those who seek me, of those who have confidence in me. Here I will hear their weeping, their sorrow, and will remedy and alleviate their suffering, necessities, and misfortunes." No more did the people need to cower in abject terror before the bloodthirsty gods who demanded the death of their children. They found refuge beneath the gracious protection of a gentle Mother."

~ From an article by Father Paul Marx, Founder of Human Life International ~

An Emmy winning filmmaker claims that miracles occured while filming the above movie. A cloud appeared and settled on the hillside they were filming on, just like in the original story. Birds appeared and sang when the script called for it. Contrails formed cloudlike rays of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The filmmaker has been to 250 cities telling audiences about what happened. Every time he filmed, something miraculous happened in front of the camera or behind the camera. The first day they filmed was the worst rainstorm in 100 years, yet not a drop of water fell on them as they filmed. Other things happened in the full length film not talked about here. Ronald Reagan on Adoption and Abortion

Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen's Spiritual Adoption of an Unborn Child Prayer

Servant of God Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen encouraged this daily prayer to spiritually adopt an unborn child:

Jesus, Mary, Joseph, I love you very much. I beg of you to spare the life of the unborn child I have spiritually adopted, who is in danger of abortion.
***

From the Baltimore Archdiocese: What is the Spiritual Adoption Program?

It is very simple. Participants in the Spiritual Adoption Program pledge to pray for nine months for a baby in danger of abortion. While this child will remain unknown to his or her 'spiritual parent', God knows who the child is. Many people have found that naming 'their child' helps to keep them focused on the reality that their prayers are helping to save a particular baby from the harm of abortion. This can be done in a parish or school setting, with age appropriate materials.

The Purpose of the Spiritual Adoption Program is threefold:

1. Encourage prayer for those contemplating abortion, that they will respond to God's grace and welcome their child into life.

2. Educate adults and children about the development of the pre-born child.

3. Provide mothers in need with a 'baby shower' of donated baby gifts, or simply celebrate with a 'birthday party' at the conclusion of the program. In one school a crib was bought with monetary gifts and the students filled a crib with gifts for expectant mothers.

Fr. Thomas Euteneuer: The Audacity of Risking All for Christ

"John the Baptist challenges us to greater zeal for Christ in this Advent season. We must be willing to take up the mantle of prophet to our nation and confront the total corruption of our culture. The transformation of hearts and society is going to require a church full of prophets and saints who are willing to risk many things - and relationships - for the sake of Christ."

Abortion Kills Babies and Wounds Mothers

one that kills the baby and deeply wounds the mother.”

Prayer For Spiritual Supporters Of God's Precious Infants

Eternal Father, Author of All Life, I know that at this very moment a precious pre-born human life in the womb of his mother is in danger of a horrendous death. However, at this moment, I cannot be physically present at the scene to give a witness of your love for this tiny being you knit so wonderfully in his mother's womb. Nonetheless, I wish to present my spiritual self there and, with heartfelt prayers and supplications, to send Heaven-bound all pleas and urgings that your spirit rouse hearts to change and stop the killing of these your precious infants.

Therefore, Lord, although I am unable to be at the scene, I offer as a sacrifice all my labors, thoughts, prayers, inconveniences, sufferings and pains of this day to be united especially with the efforts of those who at this very moment are trying to prevent a precious life from being denied the right to see the light of your day. I offer myself with all the Sacrifices of the Holy Masses, which are ascending right now to your Holy Throne, and with all those who are speaking right now to Jesus in the Eucharist on behalf of the preborn, in the hope that even one precious infant's life might be saved, that one mother might hold her child the day of his birth, that one father might carry his offspring even as your Son Jesus Christ was carried by His earthly father.

Precious infant in the womb, hear my longings and remember that God your Father said that even should a mother forget her infant, He will never forget you.(Isaiah 49:15) I too, united with your Heavenly Father, will not forget you and will unite my prayers and fastings this day with all your Spiritual mothers and fathers who either right now are in your physical presence or who are in their homes, workplaces or wherever duty calls. I join also with the unutterable urgings of the Holy Spirit that labors for your birth.

Remember too, God's precious infant, that even as Rachel mourned her children who were no more (Jeremiah 31:15-17), we mourn and hope that the Mother of All Mothers, Mary our Mother, will turn these tears into a hope that no precious infant of God like yourself will have his life taken this day so violently.

Mary, Mother of God and Mother of us all, protect God's precious infants and intercede for them and for us, Spiritual Supporters, who pray and sacrifice daily for their lives, especially for those who at this very moment are in danger.

Finally, we pray that God forgives those mothers who this very day may make the tragic mistake and end the life within them, but more so God, we pray that this mistake not be made.

I offer these prayers to you my Holy Father, through the merits of your Son Jesus, who with You and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen.
