USA Faces God's Justice For Allowing the Killing of His Unborn Children

Criminals convicted in our nation of the most heinous crimes have never been treated with the barbaric cruelty that over fifty million   unborn babies have suffered during induced abortion from their mothers’ wombs. Tiny, innocent babies are trapped in an enclosed space and killed mercilessly, totally unable to defend themselves. They are poisoned, burned, dismembered, skulls crushed, brains sucked out.  

Responsibility for the protection of these most innocent human beings belongs to all USA citizens who are old enough to vote. Voting for politicians who legislate in favor of abortion is being an enabler of that grievous offense against God, the Creator of all life.

 

When we bemoan the shortage of workers to fund Social Security, think of the unborn who could have been part of the work force. When we cry because there is no cure for serious diseases, think of the aborted unborn who might have discovered those cures. When we worry about the economy, energy needs, health care, etc., think of the more than fifty million unborn babies  that were never given a chance to use their God-given talents to contribute to our society.

 

We are all God’s children. Will He bless a nation that continues to insult Him by allowing the destruction of His unborn sons and daughters? When we turn away from God and His law of love, might He allow us to wallow in our own misery until we learn the hard lessons needed to humbly return to the most loving and wisest of Fathers?

 

Consider the words of Thomas Jefferson, "I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever."

Steve Jobs: How His Mother Saved His Life

Since this is Respect Life Sunday, and the beginning of Respect Life month, I wanted to talk about one woman who did respect life – and her choice has made a difference in the life of virtually every person in this church.

Her name is Joanne Schiebel. In 1954, she was a young unmarried college student who discovered that she was pregnant. In the 1950s, her options were limited. She could have had an abortion – but the procedure was both dangerous and illegal. She could have gotten married, but she wasn’t ready and didn’t want to interrupt her education. Joanne opted, instead, to give birth to the baby and put it up for adoption.

And so it was that in 1955, a California couple named Paul and Clara Jobs adopted a baby boy, born out of wedlock, that they named Steven.

We know him today…as Steve Jobs.

It would not be overstating things to say that Steve Jobs is my generation’s Thomas Edison. As one observer put it, he knew what the world wanted before the world knew that it wanted it.

If you have an iPhone or an iPad or an iPod, or anything remotely resembling them, you can thank Steve Jobs.

If your world has been transformed by the ability to hear a symphony, send a letter, pay a bill, deposit a check, read a book and then buy theater tickets on something roughly the size of a credit card…you can thank Steve Jobs.

And: you can thank Joanne Schiebel.

Prayer for the Little Ones Unborn

Our Father, we thank Thee for letting us share Thy gift of life.

We know that all Thy children are precious to Thee.

We pray that Thou may give special protection to little ones not yet born.

Guard them from those who would do them harm.

Permit them to enter the world safely, to live in the light of day.

and to make their way to the place Thou hast prepared for them.

Grant that every mother would welcome her child with love

as Mary welcomed her Divine Son.

We ask this in the name of Jesus, Our Lord. Amen.

" I grew up in the house where my brother was on his back in his bed for almost 33 years, in the same corner of his room, under the same window, beside the same yellow walls. Oliver was blind, mute. His legs were twisted. He didn't have the strength to lift his head nor the intelligence to learn anything."

"Oliver grew to the size of a 10-year-old. He had a big chest, a large head. His hands and feet were those of a five-year-old, small and soft. We'd wrap a box of baby cereal for him at Christmas and place it under the tree; pat his head with a damp cloth in the middle of a July heat wave. His baptismal certificate hung on the wall above his head. A bishop came to the house and confirmed him.

"Even now, five years after his death from pneumonia on March 12, 1980, Oliver still remains the weakest, most helpless human being I ever met, and yet he was one of the most powerful human beings I ever met. He could do absolutely nothing except breathe, sleep, eat, and yet he was responsible for action, love, courage, insight. When I was small my mother would say, "Isn't it wonderful that you can see?" Celebrating Eliot's Life: A Love Story

Eliot was born with an undeveloped lung, a heart with a hole in it and DNA that placed faulty information into each and every cell of his body. However, that could not stop the living God from proclaiming Himself through this boy who never uttered a word.

In the midst of heartbreaking tragedy, the Mooney family found the presence of God strengthening, comforting, and guiding them. Their story reminds us to seek God and endure our struggles rather than blame Him for our hardships.

Msgr. Charles Pope: Life Begins "Before" Conception

"Why do I say that life begins “before” conception and why do I use quotes around “before”? Well, first of all, the Scriptures attest to fact that God knew of us before he made us: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.”(Jer 1:4). And psalm 139 attests; “Every one of my days was written in your book before one of them ever came to be.” (Psalm 139:16). What this means pure and simple is that no human person is an accident or a surprise to God. No one, even those born under less than ideal circumstances, is inconvenient or unwanted by God. Every human person is sacred for they are willed by God, loved by God, created intentionally by God not as a whim but as part of a plan stretching back before the foundation of the world. Every human person (even my enemy) is God’s “yes” to the world.

"When I say life begins “before” conception why do I put “before” in quotes? I do not mean to say that we existed in heaven or someplace else before we were conceived here. But what I mean is that there really is no “before” with God. God dwells outside time and transcends it. Past and future are equally present to God who lives in the fullness of time where everything is now, every thing, every age is present. For us, time unfolds in chronological sequence. For God everything just IS. God is not waiting for your tomorrow. your tomorrow has always been present to him. This is why God can say “Before I formed you I knew you.” This is why all our days are written in his book before they come to be for us."
